Ramadan is one of the most sacred religious times in the Muslim culture. It takes place in, according to the Islamic calendar, their ninth month. During this month, Muslims fast, which means they do not eat or drink until a certain point in each day.
They are, however, able to eat before dawn and after the sun has set – this is referred to as Suhoor and Iftar respectively. A variety of meat is consumed, including: a lamb kebab with vegetables and roast chicken and rice – the food is cooked using traditional Ramadan recipes, with subtle flavours enhanced by various KNORR ingredients.
The observance of the fast lasts between 29 to 30 days. The duration is based upon the sighting of the crescent moon.
